The School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon
University is holding a one-day workshop on the potential adoption and use of a
national ID card on November 28 on the Carnegie Mellon campus in Pittsburgh, PA.
The workshop focus is to take a realistic look at building
a national ID card from the ground up including whether it might be voluntary or
compulsory, what the platform should look like, legal issues, privacy, etc.
The target audience is senior technical management and
planners for platform and network security from industry and government, as well
as those contributing technology solutions.
