HTTPS: This is SSL or TLS for secure HTTP transactions.  The PSP protocol assumes that if a negotiation between a client and server needs to be hidden, it will be hidden using HTTPS or IPSec or some other transport layer secrecy protocol.   Since such protocols also support X.509 certificates in authentication, then certificates employed for this certification can be used as credentials in PSP.
